Fayza Lamari, the mother of Kylian Mbappé, has come under fire for allegedly showing “lack of respect” following reports that she was courting Achraf Hakimi, her son’s teammate, to become her second client.
Alejandro Camano, the football agency Footfeel’s agent representing Hakimi, released a statement in which he expressed amazement at the rumours that his client was seeing another agent and added, “There is no such possibility that Hakimi will change his representative company.”
“It surprised us that being the mother of an important player would allow her to intervene in the transfer market,” Camacho stated to AS.
“Achraf belongs to the Footfeel group. He has been a long-time supporter of the project and has a cordial connection with Kylian that we much like.
Given their inexperience in the industry, Mbappé’s representatives rarely disclose the possibility that Achraf may work for their management company. It is insufficient to be a football player’s mother; in my opinion, this shows disrespect for the game. Even though the player transfer market is extremely competitive, there are excellent agents that choose not to behave appropriately. We think it’s incorrect and that Hakimi won’t be leaving,” the Mbappé spokesman continued.
Then Camano emphasised that it was “unthinkable” that Hakimi would think of quitting the business, saying, “Mrs. Fayza Lamari has a firm that is extremely important, but it is built on a mother-son bond. It solely owns Kylian Mbappé. She has no bearing on the market. They are inexperienced and don’t do any deals.
That someone like Hakimi might be sympathetic to this is unfathomable. As for Mrs. Fayza Lamari, I have nothing to say. I may welcome her, pay her my respects, and offer my congratulations on her son. However, that is all that is said.
I hope she can own the best players and wish her a long and prosperous career as a player agent. However, I expect the profession to be respected. As someone who has worked in this field for a long time, I would want to personally wish Mrs Fayza Lamari the best of luck. But that isn’t feasible in Hakimi’s situation.”
