French soccer superstar Kylian Mbappe recently concluded his three-day visit to Cameroon, his father’s home country. Upon his arrival, Mbappe received a warm reception from fans, many of whom were wearing jerseys of his club team, Paris Saint-Germain.
During his visit, Mbappe visited a school that his foundation is sponsoring for renovation, leaving a lasting impact on the local community. He also had the opportunity to explore his father’s village on Djelabe island, where he was warmly welcomed by the residents.
Mbappe’s uncle, Nkalla, proudly showed him the family home, which is currently under construction, highlighting the family’s roots and the development of the house over the years.
At the Bonendale school, Mbappe was met with a standing ovation as he signed soccer shirts for excited children, creating unforgettable memories for the young fans.
Unfortunately, the planned match between Mbappe and the Cameroonian club FC Vent d’Etoudi was canceled due to security concerns, but the visit itself was still significant.
Mbappe’s father, Wilfried Mbappe, left Cameroon at a young age and pursued a career as a football coach in France. This visit to Cameroon comes at a time when there are ongoing questions about Mbappe’s future at Paris Saint-Germain.
While Mbappe announced last month that he would not extend his contract with PSG, which expires next year, he expressed a desire to remain with the club for one final season. However, PSG President Nasser al-Khelaifi has made it clear that Mbappe must sign a new contract if he wishes to continue with the club beyond the upcoming season.
Since joining PSG in 2017, Mbappe has become one of the world’s top players, and his future in football remаins a topic of great interest and speculation. PSG will need to consider selling him in the current transfer window to avoid losing him for free when his contract expires.
