WNBA rookie Angel Reese recently announced that she plans to release a podcast called “Unapologetically Angel.” 

The show will be featured on YouTube, Instagram, X and TikTok. It will also be partnered with Playmaker while being a part of Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Podcast Network. 

Just after the announcement was posted on social media, O’Neal released a statement, sharing high praise for Reese while mentioning his goal with the Big Podcast Network. 

“Already one of the most recognizable players in the WNBA, Angel is changing the game with her skills and by being true to herself,” O’Neal said. 

“My goal with ‘The Big Podcast Network’ has always been to uplift fresh and diverse voices that transcend sports, and nobody encapsulates that better than Angel.”

Reese and O’Neal have shared a tight bond in the public eye for years. Their relationship began when Reese was playing for the NBA legend’s alma mater, the LSU Tigers. 

The 6-foot-3 forward played for the Tigers from 2022-24 after transferring from Maryland. She went on to average 18.6 points and 12.3 rebounds in her college career. 

O’Neal’s bond with Reese came as far as him walking her out on senior day at LSU, acting as a father figure for the 22-year-old. 

Reese and O’Neal will now be on the same network, while the WNBA rookie is playing through her first season with the Chicago Sky. 

She’s been playing at an extremely high level on the court, averaging 13.5 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. 

When she’s not on the WNBA hardwood, Reese will be preparing to drop her podcast episodes, which will be posted every Thursday, with the official launch set for Sept. 5.
