It’s been nearly three and a half years since golf legend Tiger Woods survived a horrific car accident near Los Angeles.
On the morning of Feb. 23, 2021, Tiger Woods lost control of his SUV while driving outside Los Angeles, and the vehicle rolled over. Woods survived the single-car accident and later admitted that he was close to needing his right leg amputated.
Remarkably, Woods recovered from the career-threatening injury and fought his way back onto the greens. After recovering for nearly 14 months, Woods returned at the 2022 Masters Tournament.
On Monday, a photo emerged of Tiger Woods at Oakland Hills without a sleeve on his right leg. Fans were able to get a view of the gnarly scar from the 2021 car accident for the first time:

Fans were in complete shock and disbelief over the gruesomeness of Tiger Woods’ injury:
My goodness that is catastrophic. You have to be built different to even think about playing a round of golf after that kind of injury. Much less play on the PGA tour!

That is gnarly

It’s a miracle he’s still playing. 🙏

It is amazing he has made major tournament cuts on his reconstructed/fuzed ankle, leg, and back. Tiger is the greatest athletic competitor of any sport, all time

That looks brutal

Woods won 14 majors from 1997 to 2008, putting him on pace to break Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18. But Woods’ highly-publicized divorce from Elin Nordegren (following the stunning news of his infidelities) and a long list of brutal injuries have prevented him from matching the Golden Bear.
Incredibly, a 43-year-old Woods was able to turn back the clock and put on a vintage performance at the 2019 Masters to claim his first major in 11 years. That number pushed his major count to 15, but Woods hasn’t come close to sweet 16 ever since.
Tiger Woods’ Determination Is Nothing Short Of Remarkable
Nobody would have been able to fault Tiger Woods if he decided to retire from golf in 2021 or even sooner, given the awful amount of gruesome injuries he’s endured in the past decade alone.
But the greatest golfer of his generation has remained committed and determined to continue his illustrious career, which only adds to Woods’ special legacy. Even as he approaches his 50th birthday, Woods clearly doesn’t look keen on walking away from the game of golf any time soon.
