Tiger Woods is currently out of action for about 2 months after undergoing back surgery. In his hospital bed, the 39-year-old legend will probably feel more “hurt”
when the person who worked with him for 12 years (from 1999-2011) turns around and speaks ill of him.
In his newly released autobiography “Out of the Rough”, Steve Williams – the caddie who once assisted Woods
– unexpectedly revealed that he was treated badly during his time serving the famous American golfer.
“Woods is famous for his erratic temperament. Many times, he threw his clubs on the floor and ordered me to pick them up.
That action was no different from treating a slave. In addition, he also had another very bad habit, spitting into the hole after an unsuccessful putt.”
The 51-year-old caddie also affirmed that he did not know about Woods’ sex scandal until the incident was exposed in the press. “Only a few close friends of his knew. Tiger didn’t tell me anything. If I had known, I wouldn’t have tolerated that kind of behavior.”
“I don’t sympathize with what he did. Many people think I was complicit, covering for him. My life has become more complicated and tiring because of that,” the New Zealand caddie asserted.
After being fired by Woods in 2011, Williams didn’t take long to find a new job. As a caddie, he helped Adam Scott win the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational just a month later.
