Kylian Mbappe is expected to spend an incredible sum of money to buy a new house in Spain as he prepares for a summer move to Real Madrid.
WHAT HAPPENED?
As Mbappe prepares for a free transfer to La Liga champions Madrid, he is actively searching for property in the Spanish capital.
He has already notified Paris Saint-Germain of his decision to depart when his contract concludes at the end of the season.
WHAT LYDIA MARTINEZ SAID
Lydia Martinez, CEO of Steps Relocation, a retail group specializing in athlete relocations, provided insights on potential expenses for the French international this year, telling Marca:
“Here we have two things: he wants a large space to train, therefore it cannot be in Madrid city center
But at the same time, he is a young person who we will not be able to isolate in a place where he has to drive 45 minutes every time he wants to go to a restaurant.”
She added: “In my experience they do not usually look at the price much. They are usually rented until they are They buy the ideal house.
The purchase is between €12 million and €16 million, depending on what we want. For rent, around €25,000 and up to €35,000 a month is something very normal.
They can spend a year while they find the house already built or two years, two and a half years if you buy land and build houses to your liking.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Martinez tipped Mbappe to move into the luxurious area of La Moraleja on the outskirts of Madrid.
Many of his future Santiago Bernabeu team-mates, such as Vinicius Junior, currently live in the area, which offers privacy as well as plenty of space.
WHAT NEXT FOR MBAPPE?
No deal between Mbappe and Madrid has been announced so far, but it seems just a matter of time before the 25-year-old confirms his switch to the Spanish giants.
In the meantime, he will attempt to lead PSG far in the Champions League, with the French side already through to the quarter-finals.
