LeBron James and Stephen Curry are generational players whose talents have helped define an era of basketball in the NBA.
As the two near the end of their respective careers, fans are beginning to speculate whether they will join forces before retiring.
Making matters more interesting is the unsurprisingly seamless fit between James and Curry en route to winning Olympic gold in Paris.
Fans no longer had to imagine what the duo would look like during championship-level competition, they could experience it.
As the dust settles from Team USA’s win, the duo continues to find ways to add fuel to the fire.
Here’s how one Instagram post is fueling more speculation around the chances that James and Curry could find themselves on the same NBA team.
James and Curry have set the internet ablaze with a recent Instagram post.
Rather than simply tagging one another in the photo, James and Curry collaborated on a post with a caption that reads “Same Team…Winning Team”
Curry appears to be the original poster who invited James to collaborate. As evidenced by the presentation of the post, James did accept the invitation but the caption including “Same Team” is understandably raising eyebrows.
It is worth noting that the two are coming off a weeks-long stint as teammates and won gold together. The caption is factually accurate and could be a retrospective look and not a foreshadowing.
That said, the photos also feature Kevin Durant, who, at the time of writing, is not a collaborator.
Perhaps the choice is because the volume of Durant’s Instagram activity is much different than that of Curry and James. Or, could it be because Durant and Curry have already been teammates and there’s no need to collaborate on Instagram?
Regardless of where you land, the speculation won’t be stopping anytime soon.
