We’ve all seen YouTubers pull pranks on people, but have you ever seen them prank a baseball captain? Well, now you can, as the New York Yankees captain just got pranked.
In a recent video on Prime Drink’s Insta account, YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI met up
with Aaron Judge to shoot a promo video for their brand. And then, they used this chance to pull a fun gig on him!
Aaron Judge is on his way to relive his iconic 2022 season, where he hit a record-breaking 62 home runs. Back then, Judge made history but couldn’t quite snag the ball home.
Now, as he’s chasing that glory again, his friends decided to use this opportunity to play a trick on him.
In this viral reel, you can see the YouTube sensations handing the baseball star a ball and claiming it’s the same one from his record-breaking 62 home run. But is it the same?
How did Logan and KSI prank Aaron Judge?
The video starts with Paul Logan reminding the 6.7-foot Yankees slugger about his 62 home runs in season 2022. Which by the way, is the highest any Yankee has scored in one season. The video then cuts to the post-game conference after his record-breaking home run, where Judge is seen disappointed that he did not get the chance to take the ball home, as a fan caught it and it was his to take. ” It would be great if it were back, but it’s a souvenir for a fan.”
It was indeed a great souvenir for the fan, as it got sold for $1.5 million at an auction undoubtedly what a catch. The ball may have gone for such a high price, but it meant much more to the slugger, who came close to it when Paul and KSI offered him a ball, saying it was the same one. You can see his face light up in seconds after hearing this, and he could not stop but ask for reassurance, “You Kidding me, bro?” Well, they were!
As soon as he gets the ball, he walks towards his wife, Samantha, to share the news, and we can see the YouTubers discussing who will be the one telling him it’s not the historic ball. And then the video shuts. Did they tell him, or will Judge also get to see this by their post on their Prime Drink’s Insta account? A brand for which Judge has signed an endorsement deal, earlier in April. But did he sign up for a prank? I guess that came free!
Well, Yankees fans don’t get disappointed, So Judge might not have received his home run ball but it doesn’t mean he can’t. All Rise’s unreal 2024 form shows that he’s trying to end the regrets connected to his 62nd home run.
Aaron Judge and his career-best season
The Bronx manager Aaron Boone said on Friday after Judge hit his 49th home run of the 2024 season. “You’re witnessing greatness” We totally agree hand down really are, as the 32-year-old is hitting .333/.465/.736 with 51 home runs and 122 RBI this season. But despite such amazing moments, there’s still a part of Judge that wants to hold that historical ball in his hands. His reaction to Logan Paul’s prank explains how much All Rise cares for it. Luckily for him, Judge is on the verge of breaking his own home run record.
Previously he had 62 runs in one single season, (2022). He would easily surpass this year as he is already on his 51st home run, that too with 31 games yet to be played! And if that happens, perhaps he’ll finally get to hold a historical artifact in his hands. Not just this, he’s leading in almost every key category like home runs, RBIs, and on-base percentage. Right now, he’s on track to hit 101 extra-base hits and rack up 418 total bases.
That’s really impressive because only 15 players have ever had 100 extra-base hits in a season, and just 29 have hit 400 total bases. Well, the catch? Hitting both milestones in the same season has only happened 13 times, and only four times in the last 76 years. So, no doubt, the Yankees beast is riding on a historical high. Not only is he at the peak of his own career, but he’s also having one of the greatest offensive seasons any player has ever had. Even if we keep the home runs aside, Judge is hitting with a spectacular 250 with a 413 on-base percentage!
Aaron Judge’s career-high performance, combined with Juan Soto’s form this year, has set new expectations for the Yankees. Will the Yankees be able to end their trophy drought this season; and will Aaron Judge finally get to hold his record ball (albeit from a different year)? What are your thoughts?
