Scottie Scheffler yelled at fans when they were too loud and disturbed him (video)

Scottie Scheffler shot 67 on the first day of the 2024 Paris Olympics’ men’s golf event. He bagged four birdies in the opening round to land at T6.

In a press conference after his round, Scheffler expressed his thoughts on the “noise factor” on day one.

“I think there was a bit of a noise factor on the course. There was definitely more noise than we’re used to in terms of people having their phones on and cameras clicking

and stuff like that. I’m not able to communicate to people to not click during the swing,” he said.

We were standing on No. 2, there were camera clicks going off all over the place, I’m like, oh my gosh.

The only other place you do that is at the Masters for the first few days, the cameras during the practice rounds are loud.

I reminded myself that I played in so many games at the Masters the first few days, and I did just fine and was able to handle it today.”

While the cameras and phones were bothering him, Scheffler also enjoyed playing in front of a big crowd. He said in the latter part of the interview that the crowd cheering was fun for him. He is paired with Rory McIlroy and Ludvig Aberg at 6:06 a.m. ET for the second round.

Min Woo Lee, Corey Conners and Christiaan Bezuidenhout will start at 5:33 a.m. while Xander Schauffele has the sixth tee-off time at 3:55 a.m. with Viktor Hovland and Jon Rahm.
