A betting firm has revealed a shortlist of names, including several A-list celebrities, who they believe could become Rory McIlroy’s next girlfriend.  

Earlier this week McIlroy’s team confirmed that he and his partner Erica Stoll would be filing for divorce after seven years of marriage.  

It came after the Northern Irishman claimed his 26th PGA Tour victory at the Wells Fargo Championship on Sunday, 

and will now look to win his fifth major title at the PGA Championship, which starts on Thursday. 

The 35-year-old golfer is yet to speak publicly on the separation, 

with his team issuing a statement earlier this week confirming that the couple were in the process of arranging the divorce. 

Yet, it will be back to the course this week for McIlroy as he tees off with Dustin Johnson 

and Justin Rose tomorrow afternoon at Valhalla – the site of his most recent major victory which came nearly 10 years ago in 2014. 

Despite the upheaval away from green fairways of the PGA Tour, McIlroy remains a firm favourite to claim victory this weekend. 

The bombshell news has left many wondering how the four-time major winner will perform this weekend, but among some bookkeepers, there is also some speculation over who his next girlfriend could be. 

SportsBetting.ag has narrowed down a shortlist of celebrities, models and golfers who they think could become McIlroy’s next girlfriend following his divorce (see below for full their shortlist). 

And their list includes some interesting names, including one very prominent golf model, a former Harry Potter actress and several professional golfers. 

Meghan Markle is one that stands out on the list, with SportsBetting.ag giving odds of 75/1 for the American actress to become McIlroy’s next girlfriend. 

The pair have reportedly been friends for some time and had once sparked romance rumours, despite Markle being married to Prince Harry. 

According to The Mirror, before she and the Duke of Sussex’s relationship had blossomed, Markle and McIlroy struck an ‘unexpected friendship’ after the golfer had challenged her to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge back in 2014 – a trend that saw members of the public throw a bucket of ice cold water over their heads in aid for the ALS Association.

Speaking on her friend McIlroy, Markle had said in her blog the Big Tig: ‘The most endearing quality of this man is his character – as real and honest as they come, appreciating a simple smile, never shunning a fan photo, enjoying a plate of pasta with veal ragu, and expressing a love for his parents that is rarely seen in men his age. Or at any age, to be honest.’

‘He is not just the real deal… he is real. And perhaps that is what makes him even more cherished.’

Several other recognisable names are included on SportsBetting.ag’s list, with model and ex-professional golfer Paige Spiranac being picked by the betting agency as their favourite to become McIlroy’s next girlfriend. 

The betting firm has offered a price of 8/1 on the 31-year-old to become McIlroy’s next girlfriend. 

Spiranac, who has previously been featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, is four years younger than McIlroy and has written columns for Golf.com. 

She played Division One golf for the University of Arizona and San Diego State University before moving to play on the Cactus Tour and had also attempted to qualify on the LPGA Tour. 

She is not the only big name from the world of golf on the list though, with Sports Betting’s list featuring CBS Sports golf correspondent Amanda Balionis (14/1).

Balionis is one of the most recognisable figures in the game, regularly seen conducting interviews with the stars of the PGA Tour throughout the season. 

Meanwhile, major champions Lexi Thompson (66/1) and Nelly Korda (100/1) are both included on the list, while Britain’s Charley Hull is also included in their predictions at 66/1.

Equally, the betting firm have also included his ex-fiance Caroline Wozniacki on their list. They believe there is a 25/1 chance the pair can rebuild their previous relationship, despite claims being made that McIlroy split with the professional tennis star over the phone. 

The pair had started dating in 2011 and had gone out for three years before McIlroy decided to call time on their relationship. 

The firm has also named one of his childhood friends, Holly Sweeney, in their shortlist too. 

Several big names from Hollywood are also included, with Sportsbetting.ag offering 12/1 odds that Harry Potter star Emma Watson could date McIlroy next.

Kendall Jenner, 28, is another celebrity who the betting firm believes could partner up with the four-time major champion, with the American recently appearing in a jaw-dropping swimsuit modeling shoot. 

While there will be much upheaval away from the course this week for McIlroy, the Northern Irishman has affirmed that he is able to play well while under stress. 

He said after winning at the Wells Fargo this weekend: ‘I’ve always been able to compartmentalize pretty well. For whatever reason I seem to play very good golf whenever I have a lot of stuff going on.’
