LIV golfer Richard Bland has his eyes on another victory in 2024 after his incredible back-to-back wins on the Senior Tour.
The English golfer found himself in contention to win the LIV Golf Greenbrier event after the second round, tying for second place in the ongoing Saudi Circuit event.
He now has his sights set on clinching a victory in the finale on Sunday, Aug. 18.
Bland has already secured victories at the Senior PGA Championship and the US Senior Open earlier this year.
He believes that a win at LIV Golf would be “career-defining.” Following the second round of the LIV Golf Greenbrier event, Bland reflected on his performance, stating (via LIV Golf):
“I think you would have to put it above everything, personally, I think, just because of the standard of the players that you’re playing against.
Obviously I don’t mean that in any way to play down a senior major. Obviously, that’s still a great achievement. But to look at the leaderboard that’s in front of you, it’s pretty stacked. Yeah, if you came out on top tomorrow, that would be, for me, career-defining.”
The LIV Golf Greenbrier event, notably a three-day tournament, began on Friday, Aug. 16, and will conclude on Sunday, Aug. 18. After Saturday’s round, Jon Rahm topped the leaderboard, aiming for his second straight victory on the circuit, having won the LIV Golf UK event last month.
The Spanish golfer registered his maiden victory on the Saudi Circuit at the UK event by defeating Jaoquin Niemnan and Cameron Smith by two strokes. This week, Rahm is leading the Greenbrier event by two strokes as he gears up for the finale on Sunday.
