Paige Spiranac has named Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa and Bryson DeChambeau as her three picks to win the US Open this week.
Former professional golf star turned online influencer, Spiranac regularly posts her picks on who she believes will win the golfing majors,
after she had correctly predicted Scheffler to win The Masters and Xander Schauffele to win the PGA Championship over the past three months,
As she looked towards the US Open, set to be played at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina,
Spiranac had explained why she’s picking the three – focussing on their abilities on certain aspects of where she believes they’ll thrive on the course.
In a video, Spiranac said: “If you want to win a US Open every aspect of your game has to be firing on all cylinders but here are the two aspects that stand out to me:
amazing iron players and short game wizards. Because of this I am looking at Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau and Colin Morikawa for my outrights.”
Spiranac also shared other betting tips ahead of the action beginning on Thursday, naming three golfers who she believes are worth putting money on to place high.
“And I know everybody and their mothers are betting on Scottie Scheffler this week and for good reason, but there are some other bets that I’m also liking… top-five finish, Tommy Fleetwood; top-ten finish, Keegan Bradley; and top-20 finish, Aaron Rai.”
Scheffler comes in as the big favorite to win, which would be his first US Open championship – as he still looks for his first major outside of winning The Masters at Augusta in both 2022 and 2024. Schauffele is seen as the second favorite behind him, with Rory McIlroy rounding out the top three.
DeChambeau is seen as a potential contender this week, who Spiranac has struck up a friendship with in recent months. The two appeared on a YouTube video together in which she beat the 30-year old star in a golfing challenge.
Spiranac had previously bashed DeChambeau over the years, but she had taken her harsh words against him back after getting to know the former US Open winner.
“Have to give credit where credit is due to @b_dechambeau,” she wrote on X. “I’ve publicly trolled him in the past but in person he was nothing but kind, funny, and self deprecating. Total opposite from how I perceived him over the years. And you would think I should know better because it happens to me everyday. I’m excited for you to see the content we’ve been shooting and an opportunity for you to get to know us both better! Coming soon.”
