The best golf tournament of the year is set to begin in a couple of days. The golf world is waiting to hear if Tiger Woods will compete in this year’s tournament.
Paige Spiranac is among those who can’t wait to find out.
The former professional golfer turned sports media personality has grown her brand with tweets like those.
Spiranac, who played collegiately at the University of Arizona and San Diego State University, has more than 3 million followers on Instagram and half a million on Twitter.
Spiranac has done big things on and off the golf course. Off the course, she posed for the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
Spiranac hasn’t always been this confident in herself, though.
“I had a lot of health issues growing up,” Paige said. “On top of the hair condition, I had asthma and bad social anxiety.
I was one weird little kid. So I know how it feels to be an outsider, how it feels to be bullied, to have no friends, to be that person no one wanted around.”
Thankfully, Spiranac has grown.
“I’ve been a fan for such a long time and I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would get the opportunity to be a part of the SI Swimsuit family. I get chills every time I think about it. So yes, it’s still that hard to believe and I’m still in disbelief!” she told SI Swim.
Spiranac’s full photoshoot with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit can be seen here.
Spiranac is one of several notable athletes or sports figures to pose for the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, joining people like Alex Morgan, Ronda Rousey, Lindsey Vonn, Sloane Stephens and many others.
The 2022 edition of the legendary swimsuit issue will be out later this year. Perhaps we’ll see another iconic sports star or two posing this year.
