Rayan Cherki (20 years old) has been delivering impressive performances with Olympique Lyonnais, his youth club, since making his professional debut in 2019.

During recent transfer windows, he has been linked with PSG. However, there has never been any concrete contact between the two clubs. 

Represented by Kylian Mbappe’s mother, the French youth international has a unique bond with PSG’s number 7.

“We have good relations. Initially, he tweeted after my match against Nantes. After that, we talked on social media. 

We met once, twice, three times after matches with the national team,” explained the Lyon player in an interview with So Foot.

“With Kylian, we don’t talk much about football. His focus is always on goals, goals, goals. 

So, he tells me: ‘stats, stats, stats.’ When we meet, we talk about almost everything… except football.”

It’s clear that there is life after football, especially considering that a footballer’s career is quite brief. Therefore, it’s completely normal for them to maintain a balance between their professional and personal lives.

Outside of that, Rayan Cherki is a tremendous player, with a lot of talent. It’s no wonder he caught the attention of PSG at one point, although if you ask us, we believe the club decided to go in another direction with the signing of Bradley Barcola. And it turned out well.

Either way, Cherki has a long career ahead of him, and in fact, we will be facing him in the final of the Coupe de France, which will pit Olympique Lyonnais against Paris Saint-Germain. Can’t wait for that day to come!
