News: The Queen is back! Coco Gauff says she’s regained her form and vows to punish any player who dares challenge her at the 2024 US Open!

Coco Gauff is going through a tough time on court at the moment and she plans to reset before heading to the US Open.

Since arriving on the WTA tour at the age of 15 the American’s results had consistently improved to the point where she ascended to the number two in the world.

But Gauff’s last few weeks on tour have been concerning as she has won a combined five matches from her last four tournaments.

Her poor form heading into the final Grand Slam of the year is a complete contrast to 2023, when she claimed the US Open title after winning the Citi and Cincinnati Open events.

What does Coco Gauff plan to do ahead of her US Open title defence?

Coco Gauff aimed to defend her Cincinnati Open crown, but it was short-lived as she lost her opening match.

The dangerous Yulia Putinseva is one of the last players to compete against when not playing well, especially with the season she is having.

That proved to be the case as the Kazak player overturned a 4-2 deficit in the deciding set to defeat Gauff 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.

After another crushing loss, Gauff is planning to take some time to figure out what has not been working for her in recent weeks as she prepares to defend the US Open title.

“I feel like I have to work on consistency, overall. [I will] probably go home and try to reset,” the American told the WTA Tour. “Obviously, I have a lot coming up soon with the US Open, so I think just trying to reset and be ready for that.”

Who has Coco Gauff lost to since Wimbledon?

Gauff has failed to make at least the semi-finals of a WTA event since losing to Jessica Pegula in the last four at the Berlin Open in June.

She entered Wimbledon as a favourite for the title but after three convincing wins, Gauff had no answer to Emma Navarro’s game and she defeated her 6-3, 6-4.

Gauff then headed to Paris for the Olympic Games, where she was expected to win at least one medal, but failed to go beyond the third round in the singles, women’s and mixed doubles competitions.

After Donna Vekic ended Gauff’s Olympic singles run, the World number two flew back to North America to play in the Canadian Open, but claimed just one win before Dania Shnaider claimed a comprehensive win for the loss of just five games.

With another early exit on her record after Cincinnati, Gauff has plenty of work to do she aims to find her form at the US Open.

Coco Gauff’s recent struggles on the court have left fans and analysts alike wondering what the young American star plans to do to turn things around before the upcoming US Open. Since her breakout onto the WTA tour at just 15 years old, Gauff has shown immense talent and potential, quickly rising to the number two spot in the world rankings. However, her recent string of disappointing results, including early exits from several tournaments, have raised concerns about her form heading into the final Grand Slam event of the year. After losing her opening match at the Cincinnati Open, where she had hoped to defend her title, Gauff acknowledged that she needs to work on her consistency and overall performance. Facing tough opponents like Yulia Putinseva, who managed to defeat her in a hard-fought match, Gauff realizes that she must take some time off to regroup and refocus before the US Open. In a recent interview with the WTA Tour, Gauff admitted, “I feel like I have to work on consistency, overall. [I will] probably go home and try to reset… be ready for that.”Despite her tremendous success in 2023, which saw her claim the US Open title and win the Citi and Cincinnati Open events, Gauff’s recent struggles have been glaring. Since her loss to Jessica Pegula in the semifinals of the Berlin Open in June, Gauff has failed to advance past the quarterfinals of any WTA event. Disappointing exits at Wimbledon, the Olympic Games, and the Canadian Open have left Gauff searching for answers and solutions as she looks ahead to the US Open.As fans eagerly await Gauff’s return to form, the young star remains determined to put in the work and make the necessary adjustments to rediscover her winning ways. With the US Open on the horizon, Gauff knows that she must address her recent shortcomings and find the mental and physical fortitude to compete at the highest level once again. Stay tuned for updates on Coco Gauff’s journey as she prepares to defend her US Open title and prove that she is truly a force to be reckoned with on the WTA tour.
