Nelly Korda’s sister became envious of her after her victory, to the point where the two sisters have not spoken for three months, and her sister has even uttered h@rsh words (video)

Only one of the famed Korda sisters is traveling to Paris this year. When Nelly Korda tees off on Wednesday at 3.55 AM (ET),

she will surely miss her elder sister’s warm presence in or around the greens. Something the world’s No. 1 female golfer didn’t have to endure last time.

Jessica Korda represented the Stars and Stripes along with Lexi Thompson and Danielle Kang in the last edition.

In Tokyo, the six-time LPGA Tour winner tied for 15th as her sister made the podium finish.

She was done earlier than her sister, with a final round of 64 for herself. So, technically, she did have a front-row seat to her sister’s gold medal-winning round.

“This is just kind of like almost legend status as a golfer, period, male or female,” an ecstatic Jessica Korda said about her sister’s win.

The victory was definitely not easy, as a pack of competitors made a strong charge at Nelly Korda. The two-time major champion, however, made clutch par-saves to nullify the threats.

Jessica Korda continued, “It’s tough to win out here, and she makes it look easy, but those girls are good. So for her to be doing what she’s doing, it’s insane to me. This is like total GOAT (Greatest of All Time) status to me. To win three times in a season, be world No. 1, going for gold.”

The duo has played together in the Solheim Cup as well. The Korda sisters were the first sibling pairing in the history of the biennial event when they landed in Gleneagles in 2019. Petr Korda’s two daughters were the lone bright spot amid a dampened campaign as the USA ceded the title to Europe. They were unbeaten in both their foursome outings. On Sunday Singles, they won as well. They were paired together in the 2021 edition as well. However, they lost the Thursday Foursome.

Jessica Korda has contributed to six points in her three Solheim Cup appearances, winning five times, losing four matches, and halving two. “My highlight was playing with my sister, Jessica. I believe that getting along with your playing partner is crucial. When I played with my sister we had a great bond,” the reigning world no.1 recounted in an interview with Golf Monthly last year.  However, she has to forego that leeway in the Olympics as her sister is still on a long leave.

Why isn’t Jessica Korda in the Olympic field?

Last August, Jessica Korda and her husband, Johnny DelPrete, were expecting their firstborn. On February 3, 2024, she announced the birth of Greyson. Since then, the 31-year-old has yet to tee off in the LPGA Tour.

It’s not clear whether she would travel to Paris to cheer for her sister. Her most recent social media posts indicate she is vacationing in Prague. Notably, Nelly Korda too spent a few weeks at the Heart of Europe.

Regardless of her traveling itinerary, Jessica Korda will watch with sweaty palms sitting on the sofa’s edge as sister Nelly starts the title defense. During the Chevron Championship, when Nelly Korda was on the verge of making history, the 31-year-old was feeling ‘nauseatic the entire back nine.’ She will feel butterflies in her stomach again if Korda manages to stay in contention till Sunday.
