Kylian Mbappé is absolutely killing it right now!
The French striker, who already gave Barcelona a hard time the last time PSG and Barça faced off in the Champions League during the 2021-22 season.
Scoring a hat-trick at the Camp Nou and another goal at the Park of the Princes – is in amazing form heading into the upcoming matches against Xavi’s team.
In his most recent game last Wednesday, Mbappé was the hero for PSG.
Securing their spot in the French Cup final on May 25 in Lille against Olympique Lyon by scoring the only goal in the semifinals against Rennes at the Park of the Princes.
With this goal, Mbappé has now scored eight goals in the five cup games he has played.
Additionally, he is the leading goal scorer in Ligue 1 with 24 goals in 25 matches, playing a crucial role in PSG’s comfortable lead in the league, with over a 10-point advantage over the second-placed team. Kylian has also scored in the French Super Cup final that PSG won against Marseille, and in the Champions League, where they will once again face Barcelona, he has scored six goals in eight games. In total, he has scored 37 goals in 39 games this season, almost averaging a goal per game.
Although in recent weeks Mbappé has shown signs of frustration when Luis Enrique decided to substitute him – it happened against Monaco and again in Marseille last weekend – the coach’s decisions seem to be working for the Parisian striker. After being replaced in Monaco, Mbappé scored both goals for PSG against Real in Anoeta, securing their spot in the quarterfinals. He was then benched against Reims at the Parc des Princes, but in the next game against Nice, he scored the opening goal. This past Wednesday, following the controversy in Marseille where Mbappé was caught uttering an insult – it wasn’t clear if it was directed at Luis Enrique – the French striker played a crucial role in securing a spot in the Cup final by scoring the only goal of the match, despite hitting the crossbar and missing a penalty.
