After a disappointing Ryder Cup loss at Marco Simone GC in 2023, Team USA could have found a new messiah in Tiger Woods.
However, it seems that the 82-time PGA Title winner is pretty much occupied with other works and can’t take up the captaincy mantle at Beth Page in 2025.
According to a report by The Telegraph, Woods will not be succeeding Zach Johnson as the next American captain.
Instead, it will be six-time PGA Tour winner Keegan Bradley taking up the role at the Ryder Cup 2025. The PGA of America is likely to make an announcement in coming days.
Moreover, Bradley surpassed veterans like Stewart Cink, Fred Couples, and Davis Love III to take up the leadership role.
At Beth Page, he will face the visiting European team led by the 2023 edition’s winning captain, Luke Donald.
As far as Tiger Woods is concerned, he could most likely take up the role in the 2027 edition of the prestigious biennial event. Despite being known for having a ‘not-so-good’ record in Ryder Cup matches, the 15-time major champion can have an opportunity to become the first American captain in 34 years to win the cup in Europe.
Keegan Bradley Will Have An Opportunity To Heal His Decade Long Wounds
In 2023, the 38-year-old American did not make the US Ryder Cup team. Despite having a sensational 2022-23 PGA Tour season, captain Zach Johnson overlooked him as one of his six picks. It certainly hurt Bradley the most since he was already in red-hot form, with two wins and top-10 finishes that season.
But what hurt Bradley more was that he lost the chance to don the American colors again for the fourth consecutive time. He previously had two unsuccessful Ryder Cup outings in 2012 and 2014, which still hurt him!
