The Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott continue to engage in a contract saga that is yet to be resolved.

Prescott is currently heading into the finals season of his 4-year, $160 million contract that he signed back in 2021. 

For whatever reason, both parties have not yet been able to reach common ground regarding his contract extension in Dallas. However, Prescott himself seems to be handling the situation quite well as his focus remains solely on the football ahead.

Should things end up going south, here are a few potential landing spots for the Louisiana native.  

New York Giants

Ideally, with the New York Giants being direct competitors of the Cowboys from their division, this move makes no sense. But, should Prescott end up not resigning with America’s team, then he will be free to take up a spot on any roster that suits him. 

At the moment, the Giants’ situation at quarterback is precarious but there is a good chance that current starter Daniel Jones does not return in 2025. His five years at East Rutherford have so far resulted in only one winning season and one playoff win from two games.

Furthermore, he has had trouble protecting the ball, and his touchdowns to interceptions ratio stands at 62:40.  

It is looking more and more like New York will look elsewhere in 2025 to solve its problems under center. If that is the case, and if Dak Prescott is available, this could be a potential fit.

Pittsburgh Steelers

A move to Pittsburgh to play for the Steelers could be an interesting landing spot for Prescott in 2025 should he be available.

At the moment, the Steelers have Russell Wilson and Justin Fields on their roster after letting go of Kenny Pickett during the 2024 offseason. 

The catch here is they signed Wilson to just a one-year deal meaning he could be out the door after just this one season. On the other hand, Fields is in the last year of his rookie contract and he may also be heading out along with Wilson as the Steelers have not opted for his fifth year.

Should the Steelers choose to shake up their quarterback room in 2025, and should Prescott become a free agent, this move could be one to consider. Prescott would also get the opportunity to play under highly respected head coach Mike Tomlin. 

Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders could also prove to be a potential landing spot for Dak Prescott in 2025 should he be available.

While the Raiders may have had their eyes on a franchise quarterback in the 2024 draft, that chance was gone quickly as the other teams grabbed six signal-callers in the first 12 picks. 

Having failed with the experiment that was Jimmy Garoppolo in 2023, the Raiders have brought in Gardner Minshew with Aidan O’Connell as their other QB. However, landing Prescott would be a huge upgrade over the two.

Freeing up the cap space may pose a bit of an issue for Vegas, however, they can explore avenues by restructuring other contracts to get this done with the then-former Cowboys’ quarterback.
