Charlie Woods has missed the cut line at the US Junior Amateur a week after Tiger Woods missed the cut at The Open Championship.
Charlie shot 10-over 80 on Tuesday and missed the cut with 22-over after two rounds.
His performance was subpar throughout the week but that didn’t refrain the audience from gathering around him at Oakland Hills Country Club’s North course in Michigan.
Dave Shedloski of Golf.com shared a picture of the event on X where a huge crowd can be seen gathered around Charlie on his first tee. The post is captioned:
“Huge crowd on first tee at Oakland Hills North Course for start of US Junior all to watch a certain Jupiter, Fla., kid whose dad just played in the Open at Troon.
Good luck to Charlie Woods.”
Another post by TW Legion on X shows people gathering to watch Charlie play. It is captioned:
“Galleries have assembled in Michigan to watch the great Charlie Woods. Charlie is having a tough go at T243 thus far with 9 holes to play.”
Blades Brown currently sits atop the leaderboard with 6-under. Other top three names are Tyler Watts, Mack Edwards, Joshua Bai, Chase Kyes and Lev Grinberg.
