Bryson DeChambeau admitted his overzealous behavior towards fans after a female fan disclosed a list of women he had s.e.d.u.c.e.d and vi0lently assaulted whenever he lost (video)

Bryson DeChambeau admitted he needs to control his emotions better when playing in front of the British crowd at The Open.

DeChambeau hasn’t enjoyed the same amount of success at The Open Championship as much as he has on home soil, where he’s twice won the U.S. Open.

The 30-year-old’s best place in the British Open came in 2022 when he finished T8, eight shots behind winner Cameron Smith.

He finished last year’s event at the Royal Liverpool Golf Course seven over in T60.

And the LIV Golf star has suggested that he needs to rein himself back in front of the boisterous British crowd.

The Open Championship begins on Thursday at the Royal Troon Golf Club in South Ayrshire, Scotland with DeChambeau amongst the favourites to win.

Speaking to the Telegraph, DeChambeau reflected on his time playing in front of British crowds and admitted that he can find himself getting a little too excited.

“The British fans were always great to me, even through all of that,” he said. “Hey, they booed me at St Andrews a few years ago, but that was only because they wanted me to take driver on every hole.

“It’s great fun, but I have to rein myself back in, because I really want to give them what they want around those tee-boxes. I have learned to be more disciplined, because as much as you want to entertain, this is a sport.”

DeChambeau has struggled to adapt to the conditions of playing by the seaside in England, with the wild gusts and morning dew just two of the factors that a perfectionist like DeChambeau struggles to prepare for. “So many things happen, from wind gusts, of course, to random bounces as you run it up onto the greens,” he added. “That’s a challenge for someone like me, but it is one I am embracing.

“That’s part of my personal growth. Golf is so my world and I always want to play my absolute best and give the fans the best I possibly can to inspire them, but you need to accept that you’re not going to be perfect. I haven’t changed who I am, it’s just people finally seeing who I am.

“I believe that time always tells who the person truly is and it’s been more of me just realizing how much good I can do for the world and that I want to do for the world and trying to bring people together via the game of golf. Yeah, that’s my big thing.”
