Billionaire Clive Palmer is souring relations with Australian golf officials after suggesting Tiger Woods is a broken man and a bad role model for young people.
It seems that Palmer’s move to build a giant mechanical dinosaur at this year’s Australian PGA Championship is not the most bizarre decision
he has made since his shocking comments about golf legend Tiger Woods emerged.
Despite continuing to campaign for the Australian PGA Championship to be held at the Palmer Coolum Resort,
Palmer has gone on to mock the world’s No. 3 golfer and declared that he does not want Woods to compete at the Australian PGA Championship.
“Tiger Woods is no longer the No. 1 golfer in the world,” Palmer asserted. “We don’t want to look back, we want to look forward.
So why do we need Tiger Woods here? I like Peter Senior better than Tiger Woods. I’m sure Peter Senior can beat Tiger Woods on a good day.”
Palmer’s comments immediately appeared on many American websites and of course, he will not be able to help Australia attract many of the world’s best golfers to compete here.
It is unclear whether this is a retaliation by the mining billionaire when he and Australian golf officials have disagreements about organizing the future PGA tournament.
Many sources said that the Australian PGA will be held at another golf course instead of the Palmer Coolum Resort and it is very possible that because of the failure in negotiations, Palmer retaliated against the golf officials of this country by badmouthing Woods, a golfer who has never competed at the Australian PGA.
