Scottie Scheffler has released a statement after having all charges dropped against him following his arrest earlier this month. 

Scheffler, who referred to the incident as a misunderstanding on the day of his arrest, 

voiced a similar tone after learning Jefferson County prosecutors were no longer pursuing criminal action against him.

Both sides have agreed not to pursue legal action, and the world’s top-ranked golfer can put all of it behind him. You can see Scheffler’s statement below:

News of Scheffler’s shocking arrest outside the Valhalla Golf Club ahead of the PGA Championship’s second round rocked the sports world on May 17, 

with the world no. 1 being taken to jail after trying to drive around a traffic jam caused by a shuttle striking and killing a pedestrian. 

Surveillance footage shows the arresting officer walking alongside Sheffler’s vehicle, beating down on the side, and then pulling him out of the front seat. The lawman’s account of the incident was completely different, however.

The golfer spent a few hours in a cell before returning to play the round. 

Scottie Scheffler’s Attorney Was Not Happy With A Reporter’s Line Of Questioning

Scottie Scheffler’s attorney, Steven Romines, addressed reporters on Wednesday after a judge agreed to drop all charges against the former. 

He went in on one of them while discussing the matter.

“Here’s what happened,” he said. “He was being interrogated after the most stressful situation of his life. The officer is actually asking him leading questions and trying to get him to agree with him. That’s why you don’t talk to police!”

In any case, it’s all over now. But it appears that it’s the police who should be relieved based on what the footage showed.
