Scottie Scheffler was m0cked for mimicking Tiger Woods, even going so far as to entering a police station just like Tiger (video)

It has barely been five hours since Scottie Scheffler was arrested, and he’s already getting heckled over it.

The world’s top player, Scottie Scheffler, who won The Masters last month, was handcuffed and accused of criminal assault on a police officer at Valhalla Golf Club.

Scheffler’s accusation stemmed from his claimed refusal to stop at the site of a deadly accident at the course entrance.

According to court documents, Scheffler was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, criminal mischief in the third degree,

reckless driving, and disregarding signals from officers directing traffic.

He was not involved in a separate traffic incident outside Valhalla that ended in a pedestrian fatality.

Two misdemeanors, one infraction, and one felony (second-degree assault of a police officer) are among the accusations.

After being “dragged” by Scheffler’s vehicle, the police report states that an officer was sent to the hospital with “pain, swelling, and abrasions to his left wrist and knee.”

Soon after he was released, Scottie Scheffler would make his way to the Valhalla Golf Club to compete in the second round of the PGA Championship.

Scheffler was walking to the driving range when one fan called out and said his mugshot “was better than Tiger’s.”

Jeff Darlington of ESPN posted on Twitter that a police officer grabbed onto Scheffler’s car as it entered Valhalla. Scheffler continued driving for approximately ten yards before eventually stopping..

“The police officer then began to scream at Scheffler to get out of the car,” Darlington said in a post on the social media site X. “When Scheffler exited the vehicle, the officer shoved Scheffler against the car and immediately placed him in handcuffs. He is now being detained in the back of a police car.”

Scottie Scheffler Releases Statement After Arrest Before Tournament

The world’s top golfer, Scottie Scheffler, was arrested outside of Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville ahead of round 2 of the PGA Championship.

He released a statement on his social media explaining what happened.

In a statement, Scheffler said: “This morning, I was proceeding as directed by police officers. It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do. I never intended to disregard any of the instructions.

“I’m hopeful to put this to the side and focus on golf today. Of course, all of us involved in the tournament express our deepest sympathies to the family of the man who passed away in the earlier accident this morning. It truly puts everything in perspective.”

Scottie Scheffler Thursday’s first round of the tournament tied for 12th, five strokes off the lead at -4, via ESPN.com.
