PGA golf star Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll were seen together in public, another strong indicator that they’re keeping their marriage intact.
In May, Rory McIlroy filed for divorce after seven years of marriage to Erica Stoll.
The pair, who tied the knot together in 2017, appeared ready to split ways before McIlroy withdrew the divorce filing less than a month later.
McIlroy, members of the European Ryder Cup team and their partners had a dinner in London, England, according to the Daily Mail.
Diane Donald, the wife of PGA golfer Luke Donald, shared a photo of the gathering.
Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll attended the dinner together, strongly suggesting that their marriage is on the right track again:
It was reported that McIlroy had a close friend and private investigator, Carl Woods, personally serve the divorce papers to Stoll. McIlroy was widely criticized for this move, but Woods’ gesture was all for nothing anyway.
The four-time major winner and Stoll reportedly met for the first time at the 2012 Ryder Cup event. The 36-year-old Stoll previously worked for the PGA of America, and the two have one child together.
Rory McIlroy Is Going For Lucky Major No. 5 Next Week
The 35-year-old McIlroy was oh-so-close to securing his fifth major at the 2024 U.S. Open a month ago. But he missed two pivotal short putts (both inside four feet) and bogeyed three of the final four holes, losing the title to Bryson DeChambeau.
Rory McIlroy was on a historic page, with four major victories (the 2012 and 2014 PGA Championships, the 2011 U.S. Open and the 2014 Open Championship) by the young age of 25.
It’s been a painful and decade-long wait for McIlroy, who has one last chance to secure a major here in 2024. He’ll tee off in nine days at The Open Championship that will be held at the Royal Troon Golf Club in South Ayrshire, Scotland.
