Scottie Scheffler’s incredible 2024 PGA Tour season was capped off on Sunday, after the world No. 1 landed the first FedEx Cup title of his career by winning the Tour Championship
Scottie Scheffler’s remarkable 2024 PGA Tour campaign has seen him become the third biggest earner in Tour history, despite still being just 28 years old.
Scheffler has been head and shoulders above his rivals on this campaign, leading the FedEx Cup standings for the large majority of the campaign, before being crowned champion with victory at the Tour Championship. The win was his seventh on the PGA Tour this campaign, alongside the Masters and Players Championship, as well as a group of Signature Events.
With titles has of course come huge prize money payouts too, no bigger than Sunday’s victory, which saw him take home a whopping £19 million ($25m) for winning the season-long race.
The only two names ahead of Scheffler in the list is Rory McIlroy in second and Tiger Woods in first, but with his young age, remarkable talent and continuously growing tournament purses, he will no doubt have his sights on chasing down the two greats ahead of him. Scheffler’s move up the list has been aided by LIV Golf though.

Some of the PGA Tour’s biggest names opted to make the move to the Saudi-backed league, but this came at a cost, with their membership with the American-based circuit suspended. This has led to their names being chalked off the Money List too, paving the way for Scheffler.
Two LIV stars in Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson both currently have a higher earnings tally on the PGA Tour than Scheffler, meaning the world No. 1 would therefore lie fifth, if the Saudi-backed league’s players were reintegrated. For Scheffler it appears money has never been the driving force behind his incredible form.
He once again proved to be his calm and collective self following his mega-money win in Atlanta, celebrating alongside his wife Meredith and son Bennett in the immediate aftermath. “It’s a lot of fun,” he said post-roun. “We’ve put in a lot of work to get to this point, and it’s been a long week. Right now I’m just pretty tired, so I don’t really know how to put this into words. But it’s a pretty special feeling to be finally holding the trophy.”

These bonuses do not count towards a player’s earnings on the all-time PGA Tour Money List, but this has not stopped Scheffler from moving up into third spot. Away from his bonus payouts, the No. 1 golfer in the world has still managed to bank just short of £23 million in tournament prize money this campaign. This has seen him edge past was one of the Tour’s greatest players, in 17-time champion and former US Open winner Jim Furyk, with his official tally now almost £55 million, ($71,793,586) around £100,000 ahead of Furyk having played over 500 PGA Tour tournaments less.
