Shocking: Coco Gauff’s match at the US Open was suddenly halted, leaving both the stadium and online viewers anxiously worried for Coco! Could she have sustained an injury?

The US Open has barely even started and so are the problems. While players want a hassle-free playing experience, it eludes them sometimes.

On a title defense run, Coco Gauff, experienced some during her round 2 clash.

Coming into the event as a favorite, she took on the German Tatjana Maria in the second round of the event.

However, in a series of twists and turns, she did not have a pleasant experience.

In the middle of the match during the first set, the game was temporarily stopped.

Both the players were in the middle of an intense rally when the chair umpire asked them to stop their game for a moment creating some confusion between the two.

However, it was later revealed that the stoppage was due to a technical glitch in the system which eventully halted the game.

However, fans were clearly not happy with the incident and took their frustration to the social media. Even though Coco managed to come out on top in the set, viewers did not hold their words back in slamming the chair umpire and the VAR system behind the mishaps.

Fans react to Coco Gauff’s match being stopped due to technical glitch

Amidst the ongoing drama, one fan came ahead and suggested that it is always Gauff that has to go through these mishappenings. “Coco Gauff stays getting screwed over by the chair umpires,” is what thec fan suggested. This was a connection to her past horrors that shattered her dream to win the Paris Olympics, with a similar event taking place in her French Open run earlier this year, where a call by the umpire costed her a point.

“Why do these system errors seem to always happen with @CocoGauff,” said another fan. Interestingly, Gauff experienced trouble with electronic line-calling in a doubles match earlier this year, when she partnered with Siniakova. Their opponent hit a shot far out the line, which was confirmed later by Hawkeye, but no call was made by the line-calling system. Challenged, by Pegula, the point was overturned in their favor.

“Not gonna lie, the electronic line system is starting to lose me. Between all the tune up event issues and now it randomly going off on set point of this Coco Gauff match…” highlighted another fan who also isused the same sentiments as the above against the surprising return of the issue during a match involving Gauff. The electronic line-calling system, or Hawkeye Live, has a purported 2.2 mm margin of error. However, technical errors have often appeared this year, which have troubled players.

Another fan joined them as he also made sure to lash out words against the chair umpire for halting the match. “VAR rigged against Coco Gauff,” tweeted the fan. The incident in Paris left Gauff in tears, which was followed by a defeat and a shattering of dreams for the American player and her first Olympics stint. However, this time, the things were a bit different for her.

Last, but not least, this fan also came ahead to vent his frustration out on X. “SOME BULLSHIT HAPPENS TO COCO GAUFF EVERY TIME SHE PLAYS. I WANT AN INVESTIGATION,” he said while pointing out at the system that interrupted her game time and caused hindrance. While the investigation was not required, it was quite clearly visible that it was a technical glitch that happened during the match.

Thus, fans were clearly not happy with how the things went in the match. Depsite Coco managed to secure the win in the first set, the hindrance is something that they clearly condemned during the match. The match continued, and Gauff won the clash. She will be crossing her fingers before each match, hoping any errors would be resolved before her next match with Elina Svitolina.
