Mbappe: ‘I will never go to Arsenal because I promised this person’ (video)

Striker Kylian Mbappe laughed loudly and half-joked about not joining Arsenal because of the cold weather in London, while chatting with a teenage fan.

In an unknown conversation at this time, fan born in 2010 Mike Poulli invited Mbappe to move to Arsenal.

“Impossible, that never happens,” the French striker replied and laughed loudly. When asked why, the 2018 World Cup champion replied: “Because it’s very cold there.”

Afterwards, Poulli posted a conversation with Mbappe on social networks and wrote: “I tried it, Arsenal. It’s your loss, Mbappe.”

On February 15, European media reported that Mbappe informed President Nasser Al Khelaifi of his decision to leave PSG when his contract expires in June 2024.

Afterwards, Spanish newspaper Marca said Mbappe had signed a five-year contract with Real and accepted a deep salary reduction.

Coach Mikel Arteta affirmed that Arsenal must race to recruit Mbappe on a free transfer in the summer of 2024, if there is a chance.

But he admitted that the French striker will likely join Real according to speculation in the press. When Arsene Wenger was still in office, Arsenal tried to recruit Mbappe.

The legendary French coach revealed that he met Mbappe when he was a teenage player and was unsure about renewing his contract with AS Monaco in 2016.

The Emirates Stadium owner had an offer of more than $100 million rejected in 2017, a year before he joined PSG.

“If you ask Mbappe, he will probably tell you that I was at his house last year and tried to bring him to Arsenal,” Wenger told beIN Sports TV channel at that time.

“But Monaco decided to keep Mbappe, and he personally decided to stay for at least one more season. I can understand this, because Mbappe was trained and grew up there.”

After wearing the PSG shirt, the French striker confirmed that he spoke directly with Wenger in France. “Coming to Arsenal was a real choice for me,” Mbappe told the Telegraph.

“But of course, PSG was the main choice. We considered the pros and cons of all clubs, but my family said it had to be my decision and I needed to decide my future.”

Mbappe emerged as a teenage player for Monaco. In 2017, PSG signed a loan contract with Mbappe and a year later, bought him outright for 200 million USD.

The French striker immediately became PSG’s mainstay with a record of 247 goals and 105 assists in 296 matches

Helping the club win five Ligue 1, three French Cups, two French League Cups and three French Super Cups.

But after there was information about reaching an agreement with Real, Mbappe was limited in the number of minutes he played at PSG.

Coach Luis Enrique explained that sooner or later PSG will have to learn how to play without the 25-year-old striker.
