Update: Lamar Jackson clapped back at “toxic” criticisms with the comment, “You’re no one to judge me,” infuriating the NFL community, who pledged to withdraw their support for Lamar!

Lamar Jackson #8 of the Baltimore Ravens reacts after a 17-10 defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game at M&T Bank Stadium on January 28, 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Baltimore Ravens have been a very good team with Lamar Jackson at quarterback.

The two-time NFL MVP has guided the Ravens to five playoff appearances in six seasons, and they reached the AFC Championship Game last season.

However, Jackson is just 2-4 in the playoffs and was recently asked by host Adam Schein on Mad Dog Sports Radio about the criticism he gets when it comes to his postseason struggles.

“I really don’t care what the criticism is. … We’re getting closer, I’ll say that,” Jackson said, via podcast host Sarah Ellison.

In his six playoff games, Jackson has nine total touchdowns and nine total turnovers, and his passer rating is a mediocre 75.7.

It is clear that the lights get brighter and the competition gets more intense once the calendar turns to January.

Jackson, judging by this recent interview, knows he hasn’t been at his best in the biggest moments. But he did take Baltimore to the AFC Championship Game for the first time since the 2012 season.

Though the strides have been slow, the Ravens have made them.

Now, Baltimore will have a new look this season with the addition of All-Pro running back Derrick Henry.

Additionally, the Ravens will get to see how good they really are against their biggest out-of-division foe, the Kansas City Chiefs, when they face each other in the opening game of the NFL season on Sept. 5.

On their current track, Jackson and the Ravens could be on the doorstep of breaking through and going to the Super Bowl.
