The Baltimore Ravens are coming off of an impressive 13-4 regular season and are looking to defend their AFC North title in 2024. Reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, too, is looking to prove doubters and naysayers wrong regarding his ability to lead his team to victory in the playoffs.
To increase their chances and ability to repeat and improve upon their strong regular season performance from last season, the Ravens signed free agent running back Derrick Henry to bolster their offense. The four-time Pro Bowler is coming off of a season that saw him lead the NFL with 280 rushing attempts will running for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The Baltimore Ravens Have Questions at Wide Receiver

The Kansas City Chiefs have already proven that a team does not need a traditional number one wide receiver in order to win a Super Bowl. That being said, the Ravens have some serious depth concerns at the position.
Zay Flowers led Baltimore with 77 receptions and 858 receiving yards last season while also catching five touchdowns. After him, though, Odell Beckham Jr. was second with just 565 receiving yards, and now plays for the Miami Dolphins.
The next two wide receivers on the Ravens’ depth chart are Rashod Bateman and Nelson Agholor. Bateman had 32 receptions for 367 yards and one touchdown last season while Agholor had 35 receptions for 381 yards and four touchdowns.
In other words, there is serious concern that Baltimore does not have even have the quality of wide receivers needed to succeed without a true number one. The Chiefs at least have Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice, both of whom had over 900 yards receiving in 2023.

Earlier this week, NFL insider Ari Meirov explained why he thinks the Las Vegas Raiders could end up trading three-time All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams prior to the NFL trade deadline. “When you look at Davante Adams’ contract, he has no more guaranteed money after this season,” Meirov said. If the Raiders are out of contention early, they could look to unload the superstar pass catcher before facing the decision to release him or restructure his contract in the summer of 2025.
David Latham of Last Word on Sports argues that, if the Raiders decide to trade Adams, the Ravens would be a great destination:
“From an aerial standpoint, nobody can cover Adams, Flowers, and tight end Mark Andrews on every single play, especially with Jackson throwing the ball. On top of that, teams won’t be able to lock in on the passing game, as Jackson’s mobility and Derrick Henry’s ferocious running style will punish any defense that dares use a light box on early downs. Complemented by a talented defense, this could be enough for the Ravens to finally make a deep run in the postseason and hoist their first Lombardi Trophy since 2013.”
Adams would also attract numerous double-coverages, leaving more wide-open opportunities for other pass catchers.
There is no doubt that adding Adams would be a massive lift for Baltimore’s offense, but it remains to be seen if he will be moved at all.
