In the 15th minute, Mbappe rushed into the left penalty area close to the goal line, made a fake move that made the two home defenders miss, then he pushed the ball to his right foot. 

The PSG captain shot a strong low shot towards the far corner, causing goalkeeper Alex Remiro to stand still and watch the ball fly into the edge of the net.

In slow motion, the camera discovered that the part of the net hooked to the vertical post was released at two buttons, due to Mbappe’s shot.

The referee must stop the match for more than three minutes to repair the net, to ensure technical regulations.

Mbappe also scored another goal in the 56th minute, from an assist from midfielder Lee Kang-in. 

After this goal, coach Luis Enrique and the coaching staff jumped up and hugged each other outside the field. 

The 26-year-old star’s double helped PSG win 4-1 overall after two matches, to enter the quarterfinals, after two consecutive seasons of stopping in the 1/8 round.

Mbappe’s performance was impressive, helping him play the full 90 minutes. 

Because in the last two matches in Ligue 1, he was replaced early by coach Enrique. 

When leaving the field in the Monaco draw last weekend, Mbappe did not sit with his teammates but went to the stands next to his mother. 

Many people believe that there is a disagreement between the two teachers. 

But after the match in the Basque Country, Mbappe said that he “had problems, but not with coach Enrique”.

After the match, Mbappe and coach Enrique also hugged each other to celebrate the victory. 

“Mbappe played a great match, played for his teammates,” he said. “This moment is great for the team.”

This is Mbappe’s last season at PSG. In the summer of 2024, he will be free to leave, most likely to Real Madrid.
