Wyndham Clark sadly recalled the beautiful friendship between him and Derrick White: “If it weren’t for his ex-girlfriend, we might still be friends” (video)

On Sunday, August 18th, Wyndham Clark confirmed his place in this week’s BMW Championship after securing a top-50 finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

The event, held at the TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, saw him score 6-under to tie for seventh place.

With this finish, Clark will now prepare to tee off for the BMW Championship at the Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado.

Ahead of the event, Clark appeared in a press conference in which he was asked about his relationship with NBA star, Derrick White.

“D and I have known each other, ooh, starting probably at like nine-, ten-year old basketball.

We used to play against each other, and I was on the Cherry Creek team, he was on — they were called the Dolphins, but I forget what kind of district they were in.

We used to play each other and we were both point guards so I would guard him, and we had a lot of battles,” Wyndham Clark said.

“It ended up always being the championship game was us versus them. D and I played against each other a lot. Then in high school we competed quite a bit in basketball, as well. It’s really neat to see D’s career going from — going to a junior college and then playing at CU and then obviously getting drafted and now is an NBA champion for the Celtics and an Olympian.”

Wyndham Clark concluded by saying it was good to see Colorado Sports coming on the map with athletes like Derrick and himself. White and Clark recently spent time at the Olympics opening ceremony as they were both representing Team USA in their respective sports.
