Update: Sinner’s title as the “King of Tennis” is officially cemented after his victory at the Cincinnati tournament! Statistics show he has climbed to the top of the rankings, leaving Nole behind by a whopping 1000 points!

The ATP Masters 1000 in Cincinnati has ended with Jannik Sinner as the victor.

The Italian adds almost 1000 points to distance himself from Djokovic and Alcaraz in the world rankings, ensuring his departure from New York at the top of the ATP Ranking.

With these 1000 points, Jannik is set to finish 2024 as the best in the world. All that remains is for him to put on a good performance at the US Open to confirm it, practically.

The gap with Nole and Carlitos is 2300 points with the Serbian and 2400 with the Spaniard. Too many points for the remainder of the year.

Considering that Nole cannot gather points at the US Open and Carlos has to defend semifinals. Jannik, on the other hand, only has the round of 1/8s from last year.

It’s expected that Sinner will accumulate more points in the final Grand Slam of the year.

There are no changes to report in the Top 10 of the ATP Ranking at the conclusion of Cincinnati, but we highlight Ben Shelton’s 13th position, his best historical ranking.

In a year well below expectations, and a week away from having to defend the highest points cushion he has at 3110, Ben can now say he was only three positions away from the Top 10.

We’ll see how he performs in New York, but if he doesn’t reach those semifinals, his presence in the Top 15 is seriously endangered.

Regarding the Race, Sinner leaves Alcaraz 1440 points behind, with Novak Djokovic appearing as number 7. However, his presence in the ATP Finals doesn’t seem to be at risk. It’s reasonable to think that both in the US Open and in one of the tournaments he plays before the end of the year (Paris for sure, with the question mark on Shanghai), he will rack up the points to mathematically ensure his presence in Turin.

It’s Alex de Miñaur who closes the ATP Finals gate with 2905 points. Tsitsipas, Fritz, Paul, Hurkacz, and Dimitrov are all within less than 500 points of the Australian. This US Open could define that eighth spot, which seems to be the only one left to decide for Turin, as the other seven appear quite clear. Let’s not rule out Rune or even Musetti, who with a strong final push in this last stretch of the year could break into that group.
