American golfers Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele have been on top of their game in 2024. Scheffler has had seven wins including one Major, 

while Schauffele had two wins, both Majors.

Scheffler has had 14 top-10 finishes this season, while Schauffele has had 12. Scheffler and Schauffele are also positioned first and second on the FedExCup standings currently. 

On The Rick Shiels Golf Show on YouTube, former LET star Sophie Walker was asked her opinion on who has had a better season: Scheffler of Schauffele?

Here’s what she said (via The Rick Shiels Golf Show):

“And I was speaking to a guy called James Gregg who does a lot of PGA Tour coverage 

and I said who’s at the better year and he was like Scheffler obviously. He’s got the play, he’s won elevated events, the Masters.” (4:42-5:05)

Walker, who played for more than a decade on the LET Tour and was the runner-up of the 2010 Women’s Scottish Open further said:

“And I’m like nah, two majors. (In) 10 years time, you’re going to look and see two majors to one major so I’m going with Xander.” (5:05-5:17)

James Gregg is a PGA Tour’s golf presenter and commentator. After Scheffler’s win at the Olympics, he tweeted and called Scheffler, “The out and out best player on the planet.”

Schauffele has won the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club and the Open Championship 2024 at Royal Troon. Whereas Scheffler won the 2024 Masters Tournament at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club.

Walker added:

“Now I think Scottie Scheffler, he was always already very happy with his year but that’s going to be enough for him not to think oh I only won one major. Cause I think it’s going to be a point in the not too distant future certainly in our lifetimes where there’ll almost be five Majors, I think the gold medal will be that significant.” (5:15-5:47)
