Florida State University is filled with alumni who are currently star golfers. Well, the Florida school is no different.
The North Palm Beach-based school has many up-and-coming golf stars. It is filled with elite students who come from the families of professional golfers, and public figures.
One such student at the school is Kai Trump, Donald Trump’s 17-year-old granddaughter.
Donald Trump’s love for golf and his friendships with famous golfers are well known.
Whether it’s with the “bad boy” of golf, John Daly or Bryson DeChambeau, he is often seen hitting the links with pros.
He also maintains a friendly relationship with Mr. T, whose son attends the same school as Trump’s granddaughter. Does this suggest that the two are friends?
Kai Trump and Charlie Woods play on the school golf team
It’s hard to say as to just how close Kai Trump and Charlie Woods are, as not much is known about their friendship. But the two might cross paths with one another as they both go to the Benjamin School in Jupiter. On top of that, both youngsters are heavily involved in their school’s golf activities. While Kai Trump plays on the varsity golf team, Charlie Woods plays for the Toby Harbeck-coached team with the same name. Even Sam Woods, Tiger Woods’s daughter, goes to the same school.
The Woods and Trumps history goes way back. Kai Trump once even hit the clubs with Tiger Woods at one of Donald Trump’s courses back in 2016, when she was nine years old. Donald Trump was also part of the friendly banter, and he eventually posted a picture of the three posing on his Instagram account. “Who wants to complete this threesome? Or more importantly how many strokes is Kai going to give @tigerwoods and grandpa @realdonaldtrump ??? It was really funny watching them warm up on the range @trumpgolfpalmbeach when Tiger joked he’s an 8 handicap and he’s ready to play,” he wrote.
Coming from a family of big names with just two years of difference in their age, teenagers are often compared by the golf community. While Kai Trump has a handicap of +0.5, Charlie Woods boasts one of +3, according to the PGA Tour. Both teenagers have already achieved a few milestones in their amateur golfing careers. Not long ago, Charlie Woods won the 2024 SFPGA Junior Cup title and even made his debut at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship earlier this year. Kai Trump is not far off, having won the Women’s Club Championship back in 2022 and the Ladies Club Championship in Palm Beach this year.
Whether friends or not, the families of the two teenagers have played a few rounds of golf together in the past and share quite a friendly bond. This recently came to light when Tiger Woods expressed his concern for the former POTUS after the attempted assassination of the 79-year-old during a presidential rally.
Tiger Woods left worried about Donald Trump after the assassination attempt
During the Open Championship, Tiger Woods addressed the unfortunate incident, and it was clear that it had a disturbing impact on the 82-time PGA Tour winner. Woods learned of the news while flying to Royal Troon for the last major of the season, which left him with a sleepless night. This left him weary, as he tried to gather as much information as he could so that there was a confirmation that Trump was safe. “It was a long night (because of the assassination attempt) and that’s all we watched the entire time on the way over here. I didn’t sleep at all on the flight, and then we just got on the golf course,” said the 82-time PGA champion.
The relationship between Trump and Woods dates back to various golf-related events. Whether it’s the 2016 match at Trump’s Palm Beach course or the friendly round involving Tiger Woods, Donald Trump, and Jack Nicklaus, their connection is rooted in their shared passion for golf. Additionally, Tiger Woods was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Donald Trump following his Masters victory in 2019.
Now the question is, will Tiger Woods and Donald Trump’s friendship get Kai Trump and Charlie Woods to become friends? Well, there is enough time for them to discover that!
