Charley Hull will compete in the women’s golf event at the Paris Olympics, starting August 7 at the Le Golf National. 

However, Hull might face some problems with her smoking habit, as she will not be allowed to smoke while on course.

Hull has often been seen smoking during tournaments, claiming that it helps her relax. 

In the pre-Olympics press conference, Hull spoke about the fact that she would not be smoking on course because of the prohibition. Here’s what Hull said (via Asap Sports):

“Yeah, I do smoke on the course. It’s a habit but I won’t do this week. Yeah, just something I do. I don’t think you’re allowed.”

The 28-year-old admitted concern about the smoking ban, as she relies on it as a relaxation technique during play. 

The English golfer will now have to find alternative ways to manage her nerves on the course.

“Yeah, I think it will [affect me]. Because it relaxes me a little bit. But it is what it is,” she added.

This is the second time that Hull will be at the Olympics, having made her debut at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She missed out on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but is now back to compete for a podium finish.

“I’m pretty chill on the golf course. I just think about other stuff. It’s just another week. Obviously it’s the Olympics so you just have to keep your cool and when you get off the golf course, enjoy the atmosphere,” Hull stated.

Charley Hull will be representing her country, Great Britain, alongside Georgia Hall.
