Charley Hull has been in the news lately for smoking cigarettes on the golf course. However, she won’t be able to rip a dart at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Hull is set to make her Olympics debut as she is one of the two golfers representing Great Britain in Paris this week.
The 2024 Paris Olympics women’s golf event is set to begin on Wednesday, August 7, at Le Golf National.
On Tuesday, August 6, during the pre-event press conference, Hull stated that she wouldn’t be able to smoke on course this week.

She revealed that it was banned at the Olympics. She added that the smoke ban could affect her game as it helped her relax during intense game situations.

Fans online had a varied reaction to the smoke ban in Paris. Here’s a look at some reactions:

“Lol there’s no way that’s a real rule, right?” one fan wrote.
“The French not allowing people to smoke?? Seems crazy,” another person posted.
“I given up and my golf game has gone to pot without ripping a dart on course (that’s the best excuse I have for general crapness and too low a handicap !),” another user remarked.
“Well, seems she’s reached an impasse that should have been met before she was ever allowed to smoke in a tournament round. Get patches, shot, and/or gum, but cigarettes 🚬 don’t belong on course by a player,” this user opined.

“I don’t care what choices Charley Hull makes, but why does the golf media choose to highlight and sensationalize her smoking? It doesn’t make her cool or interesting. There are warnings on the products for a reason,” one user commented.
“Dear Charley: Quit,” this fan wrote.
