All prize money from tournaments that Charlie Woods participates in goes to Tiger Woods—he’s making money through his own son (video)

Fate has its unique ways of making things work, and that was the case with Charlie Woods.

Just a week after a tough loss, 15-year-old Charlie Woods, son of golf legend Tiger Woods, made a stunning comeback.

After missing the cut at the U.S. Junior Amateur, Charlie bounced back to win the South Florida Junior PGA Cup,

that too with a stunning score! He shot an impressive 68 in the second round and made it to the final round, where he sank two crucial birdies to take the lead.

Charlie’s determination was clear. He wanted to prove himself after the previous disappointment.

“I wanted to redeem myself, and I feel great about how I played,” he said after his win.

Charlie’s victory was sweet, as he became the only player to finish under par in the tournament and got the incredible trophy. But did he also win any prize money?

Well, no! However, what he did win was the chance to grab a scholarship because of his exceptional golf skills. But how can Charlie Woods attract these scholarships? Well, the PGA has a whole guide for it! https://twitter.com/TWlegion/status/1818989341156294882 As Charlie Woods walks into the spotlight, he knows the importance of securing a scholarship at the earliest. But what does it really take to catch the eye of college coaches?

The PGA of America’s guide to secure a golf scholarship

According to Blaine Lynch, former Head Golf Recruiting Coach for NCSA Recruiting, it’s not just about making amazing scores, but also being a well-rounded athlete. If Woods Jr. wishes to secure a scholarship, he has to excel in three key areas, i.e., academics, athletics, and character. This would mean that Charlie will not only have to focus on his golf gameplay but also have a strong work ethic in the classroom and compete in top golf tournaments, like the one he recently aced. And as these scholarships attract so many junior players, Charlie will need to stay ahead of the game. This includes keeping himself in the loop of new ways coaches are connecting with student-athletes. He will have to check for the earlier offer process and be aware of the wide range of scholarship opportunities available.

We’ve broken down the top colleges that offer a golf scholarship to help you understand it better! As Charlie Woods gets ready to take his golf game to the next level, here are the top colleges to consider for men’s golf, across the NCAA divisions and NAIA. In NCAA Division 1, schools like Stanford, University of North Carolina, and Duke University stand out. NCAA Division 2 features strong programs at the University of California-San Diego and Rollins College.  While NCAA Division 3 has fabulous power packs like Emory University and Washington & Lee University, the NAIA features top golf programs at Taylor University and Loyola University New Orleans. With performances, like this, Charlie can find the best fit to help him achieve his golfing dreams.
