Embracing bold changes, Angel Reese dazzled with a striking shaved head, showcasing a fearless spirit and a fresh new look

Chicago Sky rookie sensation Angel Reese is not one to shy away from trying new things and expressing herself.

Aside from her outfits, her keen sense of style can also be seen in the different hairstyles that she has sported through the years.

The former LSU standout was seen with long, curly hair for much of her first year in the WNBA. However, in a reel posted in July 10, it seems like she got a haircut.

Based on her recent Instagram story, where she reposted the reel, Reese appears to be satisfied with the hairdo and looks forward to bringing it back once the season ends.

“I LOVE MY NATURAL HAIR. SOON AS THE SEASON OVER, THE BOB COMING BACK 😍,” Reese said on her story’s caption.

Reese has had an outstanding rookie season so far with the Sky. Before the WNBA All-Star and Olympic break.

She averaged a double-double of 13.5 points and 11.9 rebounds, along with 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 32 minutes of play.

She set a new league record for most consecutive double-doubles in 15 straight games, while also making this year’s WNBA All-Star Game as a rookie.

She is looking to pick her game further once the season resumes. Her team begins the second half of their campaign with a home game against the Phoenix Mercury on August 15.

Much like how she continues to improve herself as an individual, Reese is applying the same mindset in her professional career as she works to achieve greater heights in her game.

Currently among the marquee names in the WNBA and riding an exceptional rookie season, the 22-year-old Maryland native shares in a June feature on The Baltimore Banner that she is still learning despite achieving early success.

“I haven’t acknowledged nothing now. I’m still learning, growing, trying to be as great as possible,” Reese said.

Her work ethic has earned her a lot props from Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon, who sees her going places in the WNBA if she maintains the proactive attitude she has.

“One thing about her, you ask her to do it, she’ll do it. She’s all about the team. She’s all about what she needs to do to help the team,” Weatherspoon said in the same feature.

Reese, however, admits that losing is still something she needs to get used to following her collegiate years in LSU—where she won a national championship in 2023. But she is undeterred by it and is determined to continue helping the Sky improve this season and beyond.
