Caitlin Clark has had her sights set on competing in her first Olympic Games for a long time, deeply moving fans who witness her admiration for Sunisa Lee’s Olympic performance

Sunisa Lee was the revelation of Team USA gymnastics at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The gymnast’s talent and charisma earned her praise from friends and strangers, including fellow gymnast Olivia Dunne and basketball stars Devin Booker and Caitlin Clark.

The latter couldn’t help but turn to social media to express her admiration for Lee.

Suni, as her fans affectionately call her, offered one of the best performances of the American team, only behind that of Simone Biles.

In this edition of the games, Lee added a gold medal and two bronze medals to her growing list of achievements.

In a recent post on her Instagram account, Lee boasted of her accomplishments by saying, “2x Olympian, 6x Olympic medalist.”

The gymnast accompanied the post with a photo carousel showing her best moments at the Bercy Arena, the 2024 Summer Games gymnastics venue.

In the images, we can see Lee in her floor and balance beam routines, posing with her coaches and receiving some of the grades for her exercises. Upon seeing the snapshots, Caitlin Clark could not help but praise the gymnast’s performance.

In a short but powerful message, Clark exclaimed “fireeeee” at the photos and Lee’s message, thus expressing her admiration for the gymnast. In Paris 2024 alone, the former Auburn Tiger took gold in the team competition and bronze in the individual all-around and uneven bars.

At Tokyo 2020, Lee claimed gold in the individual all-around, silver in the team all-around, and bronze on the uneven bars. At the 2023 World Championships, the gymnast collected three medals: team gold, silver on the floor exercise, and bronze on the uneven bars.

At just 21, Lee is at the perfect age to continue maturing and take over the leadership of the U.S. team in four years. If things go well, she could even meet Clark at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The star of the WNBA’sIndiana Fever was left wanting to play in her first Olympic Games. To the media and fans’ disappointment, the USA Basketball selection committee snubbed Clark, leaving her off the team currently competing in Paris.

The absence of the University of Iowa product has not affected the team, which has easily dominated each of its opponents and is marching almost unhindered toward the Olympic final. In its next match, Team USA will face Nigeria for a ticket to the semifinals.
