Cheyenne Woods, professional golfer and niece of Tiger Woods, recently provided an update on her daughter Maya’s health.
Woods family celebrating baby Maya’s improved health
In an Instagram story, Woods shared a heartwarming video of Maya smiling and giggling, with the caption,
“Our baby has been THRIVING on vacation. Love that for her, she deserves it .”
This glimpse into their family life highlights a positive turn in Maya’s health journey.
Maya, Woods’ second child, faced significant health challenges from birth, including severe reflux and laryngomalacia.
These conditions made feeding and gaining weight difficult, necessitating surgery and the use of a feeding tube.
Woods described feeling “scared and helpless” during this period, to the extent that she feared leaving the house.
Despite these challenges, Maya’s recent progress has brought joy and relief to her family.
Who is Cheyenne Woods?
Cheyenne Woods, who turned professional in 2012, achieved a notable victory at the 2014 Volvik RACV Ladies Masters on the Ladies European Tour.
Although she doesn’t currently hold status on the LPGA, Woods remains hopeful about possibly qualifying for another U.S. Women’s Open in the future.
However, her primary focus has shifted to her family, particularly after the birth of her children, Cameron and Maya, and the unexpected loss of her older brother last year.
Reflecting on her priorities, Woods expressed the profound impact her family has had on her life.
“After traveling so much by myself on the road away from family, what I truly value most now is waking up and making my son breakfast, even the late-night feeds with my daughter,” she said.
“Our family is really what’s most important to me in terms of priority. Not only have I had two kids in the last two years, I lost my older brother last year unexpectedly. That, in addition to the beautiful blessing of kids, has really reaffirmed the importance of family and being there when you can while you can.”
While Woods may not return to full-time competition, she enjoys watching golf and hopes to balance occasional play with her family responsibilities.
Her son, Cameron, shares her love for the sport, showing interest in both golf and baseball.
Woods expressed her desire for her children to appreciate her accomplishments, stating, “I would love for my kids to eventually be able to see what mom can do, what mom used to do.”
