Billionaire Clive Palmer is souring relations with Australia’s golfing establishment after labelling Tiger Woods an emotional wreck and a bad role model for young people.
It appears that Palmer’s long-winded approach to this year’s Australian PGA Championship has not been resolved after his growing concerns about golf legend Tiger Woods emerged.
Despite his efforts to get the Australian PGA Championship held at the Palmer Coolum Resort,
Palmer has gone into nurse mode with the world’s No. 3 golfer and said he does not want Woods to play in the Australian PGA Championship.
“Tiger Woods is no longer the world’s No. 1 golfer,” Palmer said. “We don’t want to look back, we want to look forward.
So why do we need Tiger Woods here? I like Peter Senior better than Tiger Woods. I’m sure Peter Senior could beat Tiger Woods on a good day.”
Palmer’s comments immediately appeared on many American websites and of course, he will not be able to help Australia attract many of the world’s best golfers to compete here.
It is unclear whether this is an act of payment of the large mining rate when he and Australian golf officials have disagreements about the work of the future PGA organization.
Many sources said that the Australian PGA will be held at a different golf course instead of the Palmer Coolum Resort and it is very likely that the negotiations failed, Palmer retaliated against the golf function of this country by badmouthing Woods, a golfer who has never competed at the Australian PGA.
