Kylian’s father, Wilfrid showed his skills in a charity match alongside Eden Hazard and other former players
Football is a game, a sport, a branch of industry and many other things – it depends on your standpoint. But above all, it’s entertainment.
And one of the best players of today, Kylian Mbappe, was greatly entertained by watching his father, Wilfrid, play again.
Around ten thousand supporters gathered in the northern French port town of Calais to see an exhibition match between local players and the Varietes Club de France
A star-studded side full of former pros. It was a charity occasion to raise funds for Operation Pieces Jaunes
A nationwide solidarity campaign for improving the hospitalization conditions for children in the country.
A week after announcing his retirement, Eden Hazard was among the participants in the event.
Also present were Laurent Blanc, Christian Karembeu, Yohan Cabaye, Claude Puel, Daniel Van Buyten, Ludovic Giuly, and Wilfrid Mbappe.
The latter, in fact, stood out in the first half with a nice goal.
Launched by a lovely backheel from Hazard, Kylian’s father showed no nerves, using a feint to deceive the goalkeeper and then slotting the ball into the net with his right foot.
This action made Kylian burst into laughter. On Twitter, the captain of the French national team playfully teased his father.
“I’m dying of laughter. Ronaldo, your Cameroonian version is ready!”. It was a good night on which Hazard also spoke about his early retirement to the gathered reporters.
“I always said that I would stop playing as soon as I no longer had fun on the pitch. I didn’t want to go play somewhere for the money.
I didn’t enjoy training anymore and I didn’t play many games. The decision was simple. In life, you can’t explain everything.
I am at peace with myself. I’m happy. I have so many things to do outside of football that I was able to make a serene choice.”
