Korda shared on Instagram: “I am very sorry to announce that I have to withdraw from next week’s Ladies European Tour event in London.
Last Saturday in Seattle, I was bitten by a dog and need time to heal and recover.
I would like to apologize to the LET, my sponsors and my fans for this absence. I sincerely thank you and hope to return to the course soon.”
According to the schedule, Korda is expected to participate in the Aramco Team Series of the LET taking place at Centurion Club, London.
This is the tournament she won by 4 strokes last year.
Immediately after that is the Amundi Evian Championship, the 4th LPGA Major of the year, taking place in France from July 11-14.
This year, Nelly Korda has 6 victories, including 5 consecutive championships, a rare achievement that has only appeared twice in LPGA Tour history. Nelly Korda recently had another milestone in her career when she missed out on three consecutive LPGA Tour tournaments for the first time, most recently at the Women’s PGA Championship 2024.
Despite her declining performance, Korda still dominates the world’s professional women’s golf rankings, followed by Vietnamese-American golfer Lilia Vu in second place.
After 8 years of playing professionally, Korda has won a total of 14 championship cups on the LPGA Tour, including two major tournaments – the 2021 PGA Championship and the 2024 Chevron Championship.
This coming August, Nelly Korda will lead the US team to win the second gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Hopefully, the golfer’s injury will heal soon so that she can continue competing and regain her form.
