Erica Stoll watched her husband Rory McIlory for the first time since their shock divorce was called off.
She made a return to the greens for the first time since his devastating setback at last month’s US Open, coming shortly after he halted divorce proceedings.
The Northern Irish golf star took some time away from the links following a disappointing finish at Pinehurst last month, which saw Bryson DeChambeau snatch the US Open title.
Erica Stoll was spotted in the crowd as McIlroy got back into the swing of things at the Renaissance Club this week.
Dressed in a chic black coat and sporting a posh Louis Vuitton crossbody bag valued at $3,400, Stoll was seen tracking her husband’s progress across the course.
This marks the first occasion she has been seen watching McIlroy play live since the Ryder Cup in Rome the previous September.
The pair have weathered their fair share of storms lately. In the run-up to the PGA Championship, McIlroy initiated divorce proceedings in Florida.
He lodged the divorce papers the day after his fourth triumph at the Wells Fargo Championship and a mere three days before the PGA Championship kicked off.
However, by June, McIlroy had addressed the situation, saying: “There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game.”
“Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”
