Amanda Balionis sparked confusion online when she reacted strongly upon learning that Robert MacIntyre m0cked Rory McIlroy as if she and Rory had an intim@te relationship (video)

Amanda Balionis congratulated Robert MacIntyre after his impressive win at the Scottish Open.

MacIntyre, a Scottish golfer, won by a hair, edging out Australian Adam Scott by one shot after trailing Scott by two with just three to play in the final round.

Then on the final hole, MacIntyre was able to squeeze by Scott, nailing a birdie from 20 feet out to get the win.

The putt gave MacIntyre a redemption victory, just a year after he lost out on the same prize to Rory McIlroy.

After MacIntyre’s triumph, Balionis made sure to congratulate the Scotsman’s win on social media.

“When the expectations were at their highest, Robert MacIntyre delivered,” she wrote in her Instagram post.

“He delivered for himself, his family and for all of Scotland. It was an unbelievable performance on the back nine to become just the second player from Scotland to win their National Open.

“Watching thousands of fans serenade him with their National Anthem is one of the cooler moments from this season I won’t soon forget. Enjoy this one!”

For MacIntyre, his win was very much in doubt as Scott had a two-shot lead after nailing a birdie on the 16th hole. The Scotsman then hit an eagle on 17 before sinking a birdie on the 18th, sealing his come-from-behind win by playing some of the best golf of his career.

After winning the tourney, MacIntyre admitted he thought he “lost his voice” after sinking the winning birdie and reveling in the joy with his home crowd. “I’ve put a lot of work into this. I’ve changed a lot within the team and I’ve just worked hard. I wanted The Scottish Open,” an elated 27-year-old told Sky Sports.

“I got a bit of luck on 16 that you need – a bit of luck to win golf tournaments. I couldn’t believe when I heard a sprinkler under my foot where my spike is at and I’m like no way. It was covered and I thought ‘I got lucky’. It was meant to be.

“Next week is a new week but I tell you, I’m going to celebrate this with my family, friends, and everyone here. I’m going to celebrate this one hard. We’ll pitch up to the Open when we pitch up to the Open.”

Meanwhile, McIlroy tied for fourth in his first action in over a month after his disastrous finish at the U.S. Open. “I had a lot of chances that I wasn’t able to convert, and that was sort of the story of the week,” McIlroy explained, via PGA Tour.

“Felt like the ball-striking was there pretty much every day. There were a few scrappy bits here and there, but overall, it was a good week to see where my game is heading into next week, especially after the back of three weeks off. Pleased with the week with one eye on trying to defend here, but obviously with an eye on trying to get prepared for Troon as well.”
