Kylian Mbappe frequently faces speculation over his future at Paris Saint-Germain with Liverpool often linked.
However, according to a new report, he could be forced to part company with his agent – who is also his mother, Fayza Lamari.
In a piece from Spanish outlet Marca, a new regulation from FIFA is detailed.
The governing body wants agents to be licensed as they look to put a cap on the commission that is earned on transfer fees and salaries and prohibit multiple representation.
It has been claimed that Lamari is one of those not registered on the FIFA Agent directory and without the license.
Mbappe’s mother is not allowed to represent any footballer nor is she allowed to negotiate a contract or collect commission.
Liverpool previously held talks with Mbappe and Lamari during his time at Monaco.
The Reds were among the clubs vying for his signature until the Parisiens swooped into snap up the forward from the Principality.
During the summer, Mbappe was once again embroiled in a transfer saga as Saudi Arabia expressed their interest in the Frenchman. It has been long suggested that his next club is Real Madrid but the fallout with the Ligue 1 champions sparked a series of rumours.
In a past interview with the Telegraph, the 24-year-old revealed that his mum loves Liverpool and further evidence showcased her colours when she was spotted posing with a Reds kit.
“We talked a little bit, but not too much. We talked a little bit,” he said of negotiations with Jurgen Klopp’s side. “I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favourite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool.
“I don’t know why, you will have to ask her! It’s a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It’s a big club.”
