New details emerged in Scottie Scheffler’s obstruction case: witnesses reported seeing Scheffler attempting to bribe police officers but failing (video)

Comedian Nikki Glaser followed up her hilarious performance at Netflix’s “The Roast of Tom Brady”

with an equally brutal jab at world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler during the 2024 ESPY Awards.

On Thursday, Glaser took the stage at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles to present the award for the Best Male Athlete

– and it didn’t take long for the 40-year-old to start roasting the nominees.

Addressing the players up for the award, Glaser first took aim at Scheffler,

who was infamously arrested outside Valhalla Golf Club ahead of the second round of the PGA Championship in May before police dropped charges.

He’d initially been accused of assaulting a police officer with his car – but images have since emerged of the policeman’s minor abrasions that led to mockery online.

“The nominees include peak athletes who push their bodies to the limit, and also a golfer,” she began. “I’m sorry, Scottie. I do know that golfing is hard. I mean there’s putting, chipping, and driving over a cop’s leg.”

Glaser’s punchline was greeted by a deafening wave of laughter from the audience, though likely not everybody found the joke to be funny. Addressing the incident last month for the first time since four charges against him – including felony second-degree assault of a police officer – were dropped, Scheffler admitted that the experience was quite traumatic.

“I definitely hadn’t moved past it,” he told reporters. “I would say that I still, you know, wouldn’t have a hundred percent moved past it because, yeah, the charges are dropped, but I still – now it’s almost more appropriate for people to ask me about it and ask me about the situation and, to be honest with you, it’s not something that I love reliving, just because it was fairly traumatic for me being arrested going into the golf course.

“It’s not something that I love talking about and it’s something that I’m hoping to move past, but when the charges are dropped, that’s kind of only the beginning of kind of getting past it, if that makes sense. So kind of operating through that now. It was definitely a bit of a relief, but not total relief because that’s something that will always, I think, kind of stick with me.”

Fortunately for Scheffler, he wasn’t the only athlete who Glaser made fun of Thursday night. After her hysterical dig at the golfer, she moved her attention to Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid.

Poking fun at the Oiler’s agonizing defeat to the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final, Glaser joked: “For now the only Stanley Cup Connor will get to hold will be the one his wife asks him to grab out of the cabinet.”

Glaser additionally made fun of award winner Patrick Mahomes, claiming that she hadn’t known who the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was until Taylor Swift – who’s dating tight end Travis Kelce – put her onto football. “Before, I only knew him as that guy in the State Farm ads, and based on his acting, I just assumed he was the CEO’s son,” she said.
